Hope Lifts Us Up

Here is what my “Jesus Calling” devotional said for today.

“Hope is a golden cord connecting you to heaven. This cord helps you hold your head up high, even when multiple trials are buffeting you. I never leave your side, and I never let go of your hand. But without the cord of hope, your head may slump and your feet may shuffle as you journey uphill with Me. Hope lifts your perspective from your weary feet to the glorious view you can see from the high road.

Where there is breath, there is hope!

You are reminded that the road we’re traveling together is ultimately a highway to heaven. When you consider this radiant destination, the roughness or smoothness of the road ahead becomes much less significant. I am training you to hold in your heart a dual focus: My continual Presence and the hope of heaven.”

No, I’m not the “Grandmother?!”

Many moms go through the day with almost enough energy to cross the t’s and dot the i’s of motherhood. But, if you’re an older mom like me it’s an ongoing impossible to conquer situation–and has been now for almost 13 years. With one of the two having significant special needs, my body seriously takes a toll. If you’re an older mom, I’d love to hear how you keep up with them, AND most importantly, maintain any balance you might have in your life!

Restored

“Restored” is a healing journal for woman that I am writing. When great pain is healed, all those who surround the one being restored are, without words or actions,  in receipt of greater faith. When we are in pain, we can be assured, upon being restored we will be placed in the middle of the water, with ripples of hope infinitaely flowing outwards forever.

WHAT 2 do @ 52?

 

Mid-fifty-ish and still somehow seeking your legacy or even just how to get through the day?

If you are mid-fiftyish, we need to talk. At 52, I’m actually more confused that I was in the middle of my puberty, or even, in my rebellious college days. I gather information from you and other sources and together we can get real about what it truly means to be in your mid-fifties in the year 2012.

CAN’T PUT IT OFF F O R E V E R??

	Procrastination	For some reason, as the sands go through the hour glass, I ACT like I’ve go all the time in the world and procrastinate worse than ever. Do you put things off? What are some examples? Did this get better or worse as you got closer to mid-fifties?	procrastination	0
	Break me out of here! My chains of putting things off.	My brain tells me a LOT of downright lies. Even in this very minute, there are a number of different, higher priority items I should be doing but, somehow I think this is more “fun, free”–At 52 I’m still running against the wind. Please tell me you put things off! If you don’t, I’m happy for you but can’t relate. If you USED TO, PLEASE give me a real-world way to trick your mind out of this terrible, time-eating, stress producing monster?!?!

Tired? Depressed? Bored? OR Just Clueless??

	Tired, Depressed or Bored?	Often I feel like I can’t see my way clear to what is next at the age of 52 when it feels like I’m starting all over. When I drag my feet or can’t see the next step clearly I wonder if I’m just plain tired. Am I depressed or am I in that abyss of boredom?	tired-depressed-or-bored	0
	Don’t give me one more self-help solution or vitamin!	I’ve lived for 52 years. I’ve worn many hats and tried on even more. I tire at the idea of embarking on the health food store craze or reading one more positive thinking article. I don’t want to feel stuck=what REAL LIFE solutions have you found lasting peace and happiness. I KNOW Jesus Christ is the Great Healer and Physician but sometimes I rebel an answer so simple. WHY? How to make the peace last every day? Where to find the time to study the bible everyday? How to pay attention?

Y’mean it’s half over already?!
